Nan Tien Temple Access Lift

A bespoke project providing accessibility to visitors to the iconic temple.

Morson Group was approached by the client to design an new lift within the iconic Nan Tien temple ground that would provide equitable access to the podium level of the temple buildings.

The proposed design resulted in a glass-clad lift that provided as much transparency, visibility and light as possible that was sympathetic to the ornate architecture of the surrounding temple buildings.

The design includes a number of subtle details elude to the forms of the flared existing roofs, while not trying to compete.

A glass lift presented a number of technical challenges relating to fire performance solutions, water ingress and overheating on hot days.

The project team, led by Morson Group, come up with a number of engineered solutions that solved these problems while maintaining the integrity of the design.

The project was detailed & documented during the height of the COVID crisis with zero impact to the program, thanks in part to our remote management systems.

A small and bespoke project, Morson Group was committed to making sure the end result was in keep with the client’s initial dreams and ambitions for the project.
